Im really enjoying watching this fantastic drama on Talking Pictures in 2024 although they seem to be showing them out of sequence but the standard of acting and script means the atmosphere of those 1940 times is re created Robert Hardy aka Siegfied as the wiley Gratz and Phlip Madoc as Luztig are phenomenal and yes i was in love with Cyd Hayman in 1970 to what a pity they dont make dreamas of this high standard today ?

Ben Whishaw is extraordinary and there are strong performances from Con O'Neill, Pete Postlethwaite, and others.

Two very appealing reasons to watch this. Clue - they both belong to Alex Kingston

This was the only actor I really enjoyed play Holmes. they only made two of the four planned movies before the estate pulled the plug for someone else and I got both on DVD.

Ultimately fails. Not because of the storyline, but because of the bad acting on the part of the supporting female cast. The female detective is absurdly bad, and the 'sister' is not much better. It seems that the producers roped in people of colour regardless of acting ability merely for political correctness.

Not very good, very low production values, the 2023 film is slighly better, at least having some better art design.

Ben Whishaw is an incredible actor but this series is silly. There is no mental illness that exists which makes someone behave like a dog. They didnt research what jail is like. Ive been in and out of English jails for twenty years and this is the silliest thing ive ever seen. If you want to watch something real, try BBC TIME with Sean Bean. The most accurate portrayal of UK jail I have ever seen put to film.

Have the box set and watching it from the beginning. One flaw in the plot i notice is that they have one gun between them yet after killing four armed militiamen they took none of their weapons and renain with just the one pistol.

This series has just been repeated on BBC4. I'd never seen it before, but was really impressed, will try reading the novel.

But any mindset or roadmap will not succeed against me. After saying all these right and acceptable things now you need to show some dignity, values, and humanity. Set aside from me and go away.
